The challenge
What we were solving for.
Eighty-five fume hoods required individually balanced exhaust routing with strict face-velocity requirements in occupied labs.
The university mandated a commissioning-ready digital twin as a condition of substantial completion.
Our approach
How BimCon delivered.
- Coordinated exhaust, supply, and lab-gas routing at LOD 400 with branch-level balancing dampers modeled in place.
- Federated the coordination model with 8,500 BMS points and delivered the twin on the institution's digital twin platform.
Scope of work
What BimCon delivered.
BIM coordination
Multi-trade clash detection, weekly cadence, published issue log and resolution tracking.
MEP detailing
LOD 400 fabrication-level modeling for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process trades.
Digital twin integration
Federated as-operated model linked to live facility data sources and asset metadata.
Deliverables
In your hands.
- Federated Navisworks model
- Clash detection & coordination reports
- BCF issue log with resolution tracking
- LOD 400 fabrication models per trade
- Fabrication / shop-drawing support package
- Federated digital twin model
- Asset metadata schema and integration map
